Hi, I’m Anthony: single dad, entrepreneur, and creator of Professor ANT.

Reading and spelling were hard for me, and they still are. To this day, I have never read a book cover to cover. From early elementary school, teachers put me in the slow classes. My grades dropped, and instead of real help, I was told I was lazy and didn’t apply myself. Then, in 6th grade, my teacher saw something different and let me join an after-school math class for 8th-grade A students, preparing them for a scholarship exam to a prestigious private high school. I scored the highest in our school and won a scholarship I was too young to use.

That moment taught me that a struggling reader can be a brilliant thinker, and that potential exists in every child, no matter what the system says. It is why every Professor ANT book is short, funny, and built around a question that gets kids thinking for themselves.

Very young, I became the full-time father of my two oldest daughters. With help from my family, I promised myself that giving them the best possible start would be the most important thing I’d ever do. Professor ANT grew out of that promise: books that assume your child is smart, because they are.

What I believe

Manageable difficulty

Kids need problems they can learn to solve. Removing every challenge takes away the chance to build judgment and confidence.

Real confidence

Confidence comes from knowing you can learn, improve and recover from failure, not from automatic praise.

Honesty is safe

When a child tells the truth, thank them first. They learn honesty is expected, and that facing reality is safe.

I’d love to help you on this journey.
